Verona reports 587,000 visitors to Juliet House under new access system
The City of Verona has reported that its new access system for the Courtyard and Juliet House (Casa di Giulietta) attracted 586,742 visitors between April 1 and September 30. The reorganization, which utilizes online reservations with specific time slots and a new entrance via Teatro Nuovo, was implemented to manage crowds and improve security.
Data shows that 51% of visitors accessed only the Courtyard, while 49% visited the House itself. During the peak months of July and August, the system maintained an average of 3,410 daily visitors, a significant reduction from previous peaks that reached 8,000 per day. This change has successfully eliminated long queues that previously extended into Piazza Erbe.
Verona's Culture Councilor, Marta Ugolini, described the results as extremely positive for both the site and the city. Following these results, the municipality plans to invest in the redevelopment of the Juliet House, focusing on improving thermal comfort to prevent the temporary closures of upper floors that occurred during periods of extreme heat.
