Veronica Fusaro to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2026 with “Alice”

Swiss singer‑songwriter Veronica Fusaro, born in Thun in 1997 to a Swiss mother and Italian father, will perform the song “Alice” for Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The track, taken from her album *Looking for Connection*, has been re‑worked for the competition to highlight its stark theme – a woman trying to set personal boundaries that are repeatedly ignored, addressing abuse and oppression.

Fusaro, who has performed at festivals such as Glaston Wales and the Montreux Jazz Festival and amassed more than 600 concerts, emphasizes artistic authenticity over competition tactics. She will play guitar herself on stage and rejects writing a song solely for a contest, stating, “I could never write a song for a competition. That is not why I make music.” She also notes, “Music does not know countries; it is not a nationality.” The Swiss entry was selected through an internal process involving a professional and public jury, and Fusaro sees the Eurovision platform as an extension of her regular performances, not a departure from her artistic vision.
