Veronika Žilková reflects on career challenges and retirement

Czech actress Veronika Žilková, celebrating her 65th birthday, has shared reflections on her personal life, career challenges, and recent lifestyle changes. After decades of prioritizing her family, including raising six children, Žilková expressed a new commitment to focusing on her own independence and happiness.

Žilková discussed the difficulties she faced during her marriage to former politician Martin Stropnický, noting that his political affiliation with the ANO party led to her being frequently excluded from acting roles. She also revealed the emotional distress caused by discovering her retirement pension amount, which is calculated based on low theater salaries and periods of irregular employment where social insurance was not paid.

Despite these challenges, the actress remains active in the industry, continuing to film series and perform in theater productions. She also highlighted a shift in her personal style, noting that her daughter, Kordula, has become her primary stylist and has assisted in redesigning her home.
