Vert: Open-source web app for private file conversion

Vert is a free, open-source web application designed to handle various file conversions directly on a user's device. Available at vert.sh, the tool aims to provide a privacy-focused alternative to traditional online converters that are often cluttered with advertisements and file size limitations.

The application supports a wide range of formats, including images (such as .webp and .heic), audio (such as .flac to .mp3), documents (such as .docx to Markdown), and video files. It features a simple drag-and-drop interface and supports batch processing, allowing users to convert entire folders of files simultaneously without strict quantity or size restrictions.

To prioritize privacy, most conversions are processed locally on the user's hardware rather than being uploaded to external servers. The only exception is video processing, which requires more computational power and is handled on Vert's servers; however, these files are deleted within one hour.
