Vertex Pharmaceuticals and AI-related tech firms see market activity

Several companies in the biotechnology and technology sectors are seeing significant market movement driven by product developments and AI-related demand.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals reported strong second-quarter results, with revenue increasing 12% year-over-year to $3.33 billion. The company is expanding its Casgevy gene-editing therapy to younger patients and is awaiting FDA approval for povetacicept, a potential treatment for IgA nephropathy.
