Vertical housing trends emerge in El Salvador and Mexico

Urban development in El Salvador and Mexico is seeing an increasing shift toward vertical construction as a response to land scarcity and the need for proximity to employment centers.

In El Salvador, architect Miguel Pérez of the University of El Salvador notes that historical construction was characterized by low-rise buildings due to economic, technological, and seismic factors. However, increasing urban density is forcing a transition toward
