Vertiv expands chiller production at Tognana campus in Italy
Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure, announced an investment to double the production capacity of its chiller units at the Tognana campus in Piove di Sacco, near Padova, by the end of 2026. The company also plans to open a new integrated laboratory for testing large‑capacity chillers in early 2027, enabling validation of liquid‑cooling systems under high‑density AI workloads and extreme temperature conditions.
The expansion will create additional professional opportunities on the site, which already hosts research, product management, manufacturing and a Customer Experience Center where clients can observe testing. CEO Giordano Albertazzi said, "Artificial intelligence is creating cooling demands that did not exist two years ago, with ever‑higher densities and no compromise on reliability," adding that the Tognana investment strengthens Vertiv’s leadership in advanced cooling technologies for current and future generations of chips.
