Vertiv expands cooling production at Italy's Tognana campus to meet AI data‑center demand

Vertiv will double output of its data‑center cooling units at the Tognana campus near Padua, Italy, by the end of 2026. The upgrade includes a large‑scale testing laboratory slated for early 2027 to validate high‑density liquid‑cooling systems required by artificial‑intelligence workloads. CEO Gio Albertazzi said AI is driving unprecedented thermal requirements, while EMEA Thermal Vice‑President Sam Bainborough highlighted the project’s role in serving European customers and creating skilled jobs. The investment aims to reinforce Europe’s thermal‑management capability and support the growing power‑density needs of AI‑driven infrastructure.

The expanded facility will integrate research, development, product management, manufacturing and a Customer Experience Center, enabling customers to test cooling solutions under real‑world conditions.
