VeryDarkMan apologizes to Nigerian security agencies
Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has issued an apology to Nigeria's security agencies following controversial remarks made at the Nigerian Bar Association’s 66th Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt.
During his speech on August 25, Otse referred to military, police, immigration, and customs personnel as ‘unknown gunmen’ while discussing national insecurity. In a video released on Friday, Otse stated he had reflected on his comments and realized they were unfair to the personnel risking their lives to protect the country, specifically mentioning soldiers fighting Boko Haram.
Otse clarified that his intention was not to disparage the entire security force, but to highlight corruption and sabotage by ‘bad eggs’ within the agencies. He expressed a desire for leadership to address internal information leaks and sabotage, and extended his apology to the Chief of Defence Staff, various security authorities, and the families of fallen personnel.
