Vesela Lecheva and Mihail Vanchev honored at World Rowing Championships

Vesela Lecheva, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and journalist Mihail Vanchev were awarded honorary medals by World Rowing for their support of the U19 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv.

During the closing ceremony, World Rowing President Jean-Christophe Rolland presented the awards in recognition of the organizational success and local expertise. Vanchev was honored for his 15 years of media and volunteer coordination at major championships in the region.

Following the event, Plovdiv was confirmed as the host for the upcoming U19 and U23 World Rowing Championships in 2027. In competition, Bulgarian athlete Rumyana Stoyanova secured a 10th place overall finish in the women's sculls.
