Vesna Janevska promotes inclusive education and sign language support
Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska emphasized the importance of inclusive education during the commemoration of International Day of Sign Languages at the Partenija Zografski State High School. Janevska highlighted that all children have the right to acquire life and work skills, noting that students with limited educational needs can achieve significant potential with proper support from families, schools, and their environments.
To facilitate this, the Ministry is working to eliminate barriers by collaborating with schools and resource centers to ensure the availability of didactic materials, assistive technology, and sign language support. Janevska also noted that continuous training is being provided to teachers to improve the quality of education. As a signatory to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the state is obligated to uphold principles of inclusion and non-discrimination within the educational system.
