Vesoul education assistant under investigation for child pornography

An education assistant in Vesoul, Haute-Saône, has been placed under formal investigation following the discovery of thousands of child pornography files on his computer. The investigation began after the Haute-Saône police cybercrime unit identified illegal traffic on the internet.

During a search of his residence, investigators found more than 4,000 image files, 44 videos, and various sexual accessories related to minors. The suspect, a man born in 1988, reportedly admitted to the downloads and the possession of the items. He has been released under judicial supervision.

The Besançon Rectorate confirmed that the individual worked as a contract education assistant within the academy. The administration stated that his contract was due to expire and was not scheduled for renewal for the upcoming school year. Furthermore, the Rectorate noted that no reports regarding his behavior toward students had been made to the school or academic services, and no such issues were identified during his initial recruitment.
