Vestiaire Collective uses Photoroom AI to boost luxury resale sales

Vestiaire Collective, a luxury resale platform, has implemented Photoroom’s AI technology to standardize product listing photos. In a comparative test, listings using Photoroom’s editing tools achieved a 5% higher liquidity rate and saw unique views increase by 3% to 7%, with the most significant gains observed in the bags and shoes categories.

The platform selected Photoroom after testing various generative AI tools and determining that other models failed to maintain product fidelity. Maintaining exact visual details is critical for Vestiaire Collective, as the company uses photos to authenticate items—checking labels, stitching, and material texture—and to ensure buyers can trust the condition of pre-owned goods.

According to Photoroom’s ‘State of GenAI in Marketplaces 2026’ report, 63% of UK consumers stated that inconsistent branding or product images reduce marketplace trust. Thomas Hezard, Chief Product Officer at Vestiaire Collective, noted that other generative AI solutions often changed item details, making authentication impossible.
