VETC reports revenue growth amid 420 billion VND accumulated loss

VETC reported a revenue of 327.1 billion VND for the first half of 2026, representing a 17.3% increase compared to the same period last year. After-tax profit reached 53.2 billion VND, up nearly 9% year-on-year.

Despite the recent growth, the company maintains an accumulated loss of over 420.47 billion VND as of June 30, 2026. This deficit stems largely from early investments in technology and infrastructure required to implement the electronic toll collection (ETC) system. VETC currently holds a 75% market share in the ETC sector and carries a debt of 3,050 billion VND.

The company's financial situation began to improve in 2022 following the nationwide synchronization of the ETC system. Since being licensed as an intermediary payment service provider in April 2023, VETC has expanded into various transport-related services, including parking payments, electric vehicle charging fees, fuel, insurance, and roadside assistance.
