Veteran African Radio Presenters Celebrate Decades on Air

Ghanaian broadcaster Selasi Sikanku marked 21 years in radio, reflecting on how early inclusion and education helped him, a blind presenter, build a career at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. He hosts programmes such as a lunchtime show, Nighttime Cruising and Touch a Heart, where he offers support to listeners facing personal difficulties.

Ugandan veteran Omulangira Ndawusi, who has spent 28 years at Radio Simba, denied rumours of his departure and emphasized that radio remains his primary platform. He has expanded into digital media with a YouTube podcast that creates jobs for five staff members, but he says the podcast complements rather than replaces his radio work.
