Veteran Gökhan Doğan establishes 950-tree olive grove in Adana

Gökhan Doğan, a 41-year-old veteran living in Adana, has established an olive grove consisting of 950 trees across 25 decares of land. Doğan, who became a veteran in 2008 while serving as a specialist sergeant in the Lice district of Diyarbakır, transitioned into a civil service role at Seyhan State Hospital in 2011.

Following his injury, Doğan dedicated himself to education, earning a degree in Business Administration from Anadolu University, a master's degree from Adparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, and a degree in Plant Protection from the Faculty of Agriculture at Dicle University in 2018.

Utilizing 8 decares of purchased land and 17 decares of leased state land in the Sarıçam district, he has planted 950 olive saplings. He aims to harvest his first products in approximately three years, noting that working with the soil helps him manage stress and find peace.
