Scott Pelley signs with CAA after CBS firing
Veteran CBS journalist Scott Pelley, who spent more than three decades at the network including a stint as anchor of the CBS Evening News and as a senior correspondent on 60 Minutes, was terminated in early June 2026 following a heated town‑hall meeting with newly appointed 60 Minutes executive producer Nick Bilton and editor‑in‑chief Bari Weiss. In the exchange Pelley accused the new leadership of “murdering 60 Minutes” and criticized Bilton’s qualifications.
Weeks after his departure, Pelley confirmed that he has signed representation with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). The agency, which also represents former 60 Minutes colleague Lesley Stahl, will handle his activities across television, podcasting, digital ventures and other media opportunities. The move signals Pelley’s intention to remain active in the industry despite the split from CBS.
The signing was reported by multiple outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, and reflects a broader trend of veteran journalists seeking talent‑agency representation as legacy news programs adapt to changing audience habits and new business models.
