Veterinarian airlifted after accident in Chínipas

A veterinarian affiliated with the Regional International Organization for Agricultural Health (OIRSA) was airlifted to a hospital in Chihuahua after an accident in the municipality of Chínipas.

The incident occurred while the specialist was performing field technical work involving cattle management as part of sanitary sweeping and epidemiological surveillance against the Cattle Screwworm (GBG). Due to the difficult terrain and the need for specialized medical care, an aerial emergency protocol was activated.

The State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC), in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE), managed the logistics and deployed an emergency aircraft. Paramedics provided medical support during the flight from the mountainous region. Upon arrival in Chihuahua, the State Government Rescue Unit (URGE) took over the patient's transport to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
