Veterinary professional awards presented in Andalusia

Veterinary professional organizations in Andalusia, Spain, held ceremonies to recognize academic excellence and professional service.

In Córdoba, the University of Córdoba hosted the second edition of the awards from the Andalusian Council of Official Veterinary Colleges (CACV). The awards for the best undergraduate theses (TFG) were presented to Laura Padial, who received first prize, and Alicia Molina, who received second prize. The selection process evaluated technical and scientific rigor, social interest, and contributions to areas such as food security and sustainable development goals.

In Granada, the Official College of Veterinarians held its annual distinctions coinciding with the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. The ceremony included the presentation of a Gold Medal to Antonio Peláez Ramos for 50 years of professional membership. Additionally, special distinctions were awarded to veterinarians for solidarity and international cooperation work, including José Luis Guirao for his efforts with the NGO Agua de Coco in Madagascar, and others recognized for their involvement with Global Vets Aid and community development projects.
