Vevčani implements new infrastructure and utility projects

The Municipality of Vevčani has completed several infrastructure, utility, and tourism projects aimed at improving living conditions and public spaces. In collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, approximately five kilometers of four local streets were fully reconstructed, accompanied by updated street lighting featuring underground installations and new candelabras.

Public space improvements included the arrangement of pedestrian paths, access roads, and the construction of concrete drainage channels. Additionally, the central area of Vevčani now offers free internet access through the ‘Wi-Fi for the Western Balkans’ project, implemented in cooperation with GIZ.

Tourism and community investments were also prioritized. Lighting was renovated at the ‘Vevčani Springs’ site, and the municipality continued support for the ‘Vevčani Summer’ festival. Local budget funds were used to renovate a kindergarten courtyard, including new paving, parking spaces, and fencing.

To enhance utility services, the municipality acquired specialized machinery for sewage maintenance and waste collection, including a hydraulic mini-excavator and a new waste collection vehicle. Furthermore, 850 waste bins were provided, ensuring every household in the municipality received a free bin.
