Veysi Duyan proposes incentive reforms for Mardin boutique hotels

Veysi Duyan, a candidate for the presidency of the Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO), has proposed several measures to support local businesses and tourism in Mardin.

Duyan is advocating for the relaxation of current investment incentive regulations, specifically the requirement that a facility must have at least 50 rooms to qualify. He argues that this threshold contradicts the historical and architectural reality of Mardin, where boutique hotels operating in small stone mansions with 10 to 20 rooms are vital to cultural tourism but currently cannot access state incentives. He plans to negotiate with relevant ministries to adjust these limits.

Additionally, Duyan has pledged to reduce the financial burden on MTSO members by introducing significant discounts and free services. His proposed plan includes making activity certificates free and available digitally, offering a 50% discount on address and title change procedures, and providing a 30% discount on new company registrations. He stated that the chamber should function as a center for solidarity and production rather than a profit-driven entity.
