Vezirköprü political leaders and citizens discuss provincial status

Political leaders and local residents in Vezirköprü are discussing the possibility of the district becoming a province. Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, Chairman of the Anahtar Party, expressed support for Vezirköprü attaining provincial status during a program in Samsun. Ağıralioğlu criticized current political polarization and addressed economic concerns, including inflation, unemployment, and the living standards of retirees.

Local citizens expressed mixed reactions to the prospect of provincial status, following comments by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. While many residents believe the district deserves to be a province due to its geographic location and historical significance, others expressed skepticism. Residents noted that for such a transition to be successful, the area requires significant improvements in industrial investment, infrastructure, and job creation to combat high unemployment rates.
