VfB Stuttgart captain Deniz Undav criticizes team form after HSV defeat

VfB Stuttgart captain Deniz Undav has issued a blunt assessment of his team’s performance following a 1-0 away defeat to Hamburger SV at the Volksparkstadion. Despite controlling much of the match with 66 percent possession and 24 shots, Stuttgart was unable to convert opportunities, ultimately conceding an 88th-minute goal to HSV’s Miro Muheim.

Undav stated that the club must recognize it is currently not a top-tier team, noting that the squad is lacking the consistency seen in previous seasons. The loss marks Stuttgart’s fourth defeat in six Bundesliga matches, leaving the club in 13th place, just one point above the relegation playoff position.

For Hamburger SV, the victory marks their third consecutive Bundesliga win, a feat the club has not achieved in over 15 years. HSV goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes was noted for a key save against Undav to help maintain the clean sheet.
