VfB Stuttgart and Benfica compete for Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer

VfB Stuttgart have lodged a higher bid than TSG Hoffenheim for 20‑year‑old Slovak winger Leo Sauer, who is under contract with Feyenoord until 2028. Reports indicate Stuttgart are prepared to offer around €10 million, exceeding Hoffenheim’s earlier offers, as part of a broader effort to strengthen the squad ahead of a Champions League campaign. The club, which posted €383.6 million in revenue and a €22.5 million profit for 2025, also targets striker Dženan Pejčinović.

Portuguese side Benfica has entered the race, engaging in advanced talks with Feyenoord and reportedly ready to match Stuttgart’s €10 million proposal. Feyenoord’s valuation of Sauer is said to be €15 million or more, and the Dutch club remains open to offers that exceed this price. Hoffenheim continues to press its interest, having already made personal‑term agreements with the player but lacking a club‑level deal.

No definitive transfer has been confirmed yet, and the negotiations remain ongoing as the summer window progresses.
