VFD Group appoints Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo as Deputy Managing Director

VFD Group Plc has appointed Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo as Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director, effective October 5, 2026. The announcement, filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, is part of the investment company’s efforts to strengthen its governance structure and long-term succession planning.

Emezie-Ezigbo possesses over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic financial management across Nigeria, Canada, and other African markets. She most recently served as Partner and Head of Transaction Services, West Africa, at KPMG Nigeria. Her professional background also includes roles at Stanbic IBTC Group, IBM Canada, and Canadian Tire Corporation.

Group Managing Director Nonso Okpala stated that the creation of the Deputy Managing Director role reflects a commitment to building an institution with the leadership capacity and governance depth required for sustainable growth beyond any single individual.
