VfL Bochum fans protest ban on jumping in Ruhrstadion

The Ultras Bochum have issued a sharp criticism regarding a ban on jumping in the east stand of the Ruhrstadion. The local building supervisory authority issued an order prohibiting synchronized jumping by fans of VfL Bochum.

According to the club, an expert report conducted during planned stadium renovations indicated that rhythmic, synchronized movements by large groups of people can create a ‘trampoline effect,’ which may cause a ‘discomfort effect.’

VfL Bochum is required to implement and monitor this ban. Failure to comply could result in the complete closure of the east stand, which accommodates up to 10,000 spectators. The Ultras Bochum described the reasoning behind the ban as ‘ridiculous’ and expressed their astonishment at the decision.
