VfL Bochum prepares for 2. Bundesliga season at Austrian training camp

VfL Bochum’s squad, under coach Uwe Rösler, spent a week‑long pre‑season camp in Bramberg, Austria from 18 to 25 July. The program featured two daily training sessions and two scheduled test matches: a friendly against Welsh side Swansea City on 21 July in Mittersill, and a longer encounter with Bundesliga club Werder Bremen at the end of the camp. Rösler emphasised tactical work, set‑piece routines and team cohesion after a major roster turnover – 15 players departed and ten new signings arrived. Forward Samuel Bamba was highlighted for showing promising form. The camp aims to sharpen the side ahead of its 2. Bundesliga opener against Hertha BSC on 7 August. The intensive preparation is intended to integrate the new players and solidify the team’s playing concept for the upcoming season.
