VfL Wolfsburg opened the new women's Bundesliga season with a dominant 8-2 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg. Despite trailing 0-2 early in the match following goals by Fany Proniez and Keira Bednorz, Wolfsburg shifted the momentum after Proniez received a red card in the 51st minute.
