VFS Global and Malta sign agreement to expand citizen and workforce services

VFS Global and the Government of Malta have signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) to expand their long-term partnership. The agreement, signed during the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Malta, broadens cooperation into several key areas including citizen and consular services, skills assessment, and workforce development.

The framework involves several Maltese entities, including the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs (MFEA), the identity management agency Identità, and the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS). The collaboration aims to provide enhanced support for Maltese nationals living abroad and to facilitate a verified, skilled workforce to meet Malta’s economic and employment needs.

Additionally, the partnership will include initiatives to promote Malta as a destination for international education. This expansion builds upon an existing relationship between VFS Global and the Maltese government that has been in place since 2008, which currently covers short-stay and long-stay visa services.
