VHP President supports Uttar Pradesh madrasa investigation
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar has expressed support for the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to investigate alleged irregularities in 558 subsidized madrasas. Kumar stated that madrasas should be treated as sacred places for education rather than shelter homes for the poor, emphasizing that legitimate institutions should have no objection to the probe. He noted that proper facilities, including clean kitchens and adequate sleeping arrangements for students, are the responsibility of those running the madrasas.
Additionally, Kumar commented on recent communal tensions, including a fish feast held during a welcome ceremony for Congress UP President Ajay Rai in Ayodhya and an incident in Mumbai where eggs were reportedly thrown at a Ganpati procession. He remarked that communal harmony cannot be one-sided and warned against provocative actions that hurt religious sentiments.
