V/H/S horror franchise announces music-themed installment

The V/H/S found-footage horror anthology franchise is expanding with the upcoming release of V/H/S/Mixtape, scheduled to debut on Shudder on October 9, 2026. This music-themed installment features a diverse lineup of directors, including Ernest Dickerson, Flying Lotus, Tobias Forge, RZA, and Renee Zhan.

The new anthology incorporates elements of cosmic horror, psychological suspense, and practical effects, including work from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop and appearances by the band GWAR. Featured segments include “DANCE, DANCE, DANCE, DANCE,” involving a puppet show resurrection, and “HEARTBEAT,” which follows urban explorers in a decommissioned military facility used for sonic experimentation.

The complete V/H/S collection, which includes nine main films, two spinoffs (“SiREN” and “Kids vs. Aliens”), and the Snapchat series “V/H/S: Video Horror Shorts,” totals approximately 15 hours and 41 minutes of content.
