Via Appia accident kills 34-year-old doctor Anna D'Angelillo

A fatal multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Via Appia near Cisterna di Latina, resulting in the death of 34-year-old Anna D'Angelillo. D'Angelillo, an infectious disease specialist at the Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina, was traveling to work on a scooter when the collision took place.

The crash involved four vehicles: the doctor's Aprilia scooter, a Renault Austral, a Fiat Panda, and a van. Preliminary investigations suggest a truck traveling south on the Appia may have struck the scooter and a Fiat Panda, leading to a chain reaction.

Emergency responders and the Polizia Stradale attended the scene. The stretch of road between kilometers 66.660 and 65.400 was closed to traffic to allow for investigations and road repairs by Anas. Authorities are continuing to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
