Viña Costeira launches sustainable digital viticulture project

Viña Costeira is launching Civitas, a project aimed at advancing a new model of sustainable and digital viticulture in the D.O. Ribeiro and Valdeorras regions. The initiative integrates regenerative viticulture, digitalization, and new energy sources to reduce carbon footprints and optimize resource use.

The project involves an investment of 1.26 million euros, with 760,000 euros provided by the Xunta through the Nexos program. Key components include agrivoltaic energy systems, nature-based solutions, functional vegetable covers, and digital tools to monitor soil and water usage. The initiative is a collaborative effort involving various companies, universities, and technological centers, including Ecocelta Galicia, Fauna Útil, Soltec, and Glecex.
