Via Francigena and Cammino di Bonaria partnership announced

An agreement has been established to promote the Viterbo section of the Via Francigena and the Cammino di Bonaria. The protocol aims to enhance these two significant pilgrimage routes through a strategic partnership.

The Via Francigena serves as an ancient cultural communication route between Europe and the Mediterranean, with the Viterbo stretch noted for its historical, artistic, and landscape richness. The Cammino di Bonaria is a devotional pilgrimage path running from Olbia to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Bonaria in Cagliari, traversing various landscapes in the Sardinian hinterland.

This twinning project is intended to foster cultural, economic, and social growth for both territories. The presentation involves institutional representatives from the Municipality of Viterbo, the Lazio Region, the Sardinia Region, and representatives from both pilgrimage paths.
