Via le Mani rowing regatta promotes fight against gender violence

The XIV edition of the “Via le Mani” rowing regatta was held in Rome and Mantova to raise awareness and funds against gender-based violence. Organized by the Italian Rowing Federation and the Hands Off Women association, the event supports Telefono Rosa, an organization dedicated to assisting victims of violence.

In Rome, the regatta took place at the Circolo Canottieri Roma on the Tiber River, featuring approximately 160 athletes competing in female, male, and mixed categories. Participants included national athletes, military sports groups from the Navy and Army, and various institutional representatives. The event included a ceremony to present the proceeds from the previous edition to Telefono Rosa.

Simultaneously, a third edition of the event was hosted by Canottieri Mincio in Mantova, drawing about 100 athletes from across Northern Italy. The initiative aims to use sport as a tool for education, respect, and social responsibility, engaging both professional athletes and younger generations to promote gender equality and prevent violence.
