Viana do Alentejo announces water leak campaign and athletics event

Viana do Alentejo is implementing several municipal initiatives, including a campaign to detect water leaks and ruptures in the supply network. Using acoustic detection technology, the campaign aims to reduce water losses, which are currently estimated at approximately 40%. This effort is scheduled to run through October.

Additionally, the municipality is conducting maintenance on public buildings, such as painting works at the Aguiar Kindergarten.

In cultural and sporting news, the 23rd Grande Prémio de Atletismo Feira D’Aires – Memorial Luís Filipe Branco will take place on September 27 at the Santuário de Nossa Senhora D’Aires. The event features a 10-kilometer main race, youth races, and an 8.5-kilometer walk. The initiative is part of the traditional Feira D’Aires program and is supported by the Clube de Atletismo de Viana do Alentejo.
