Viana do Castelo extends public transport for Senhora d' Agonia festivities

The Viana do Castelo Municipality has announced extended operating hours for public transport to accommodate the high influx of visitors expected during the Festas em Honra de Nossa Senhora da Agonia. Between August 21 and 23, the Santa Luzia Elevator will operate with special hours, functioning from 21:30 to 01:00.

Additionally, TUViana bus services will maintain weekday schedules on lines 2, 4, 7, 8, 11, 13, and 14, despite the period falling on a holiday and weekend. Comboios de Portugal has also increased train frequency and schedules from August 15 to 23 to meet the demand. To assist with mobility, the municipality has launched the ‘Romaria n’Algibeira’ application, providing real-time information on traffic, parking, and public transport.
