Viana do Castelo municipality signs vehicle acquisition protocols with five IPSS

The Municipality of Viana do Castelo has signed a series of cooperation protocols with five Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS) to finance the acquisition of new vehicles. The initiative, signed by Mayor Luís Nobre, aims to strengthen the mobility of local social institutions and enhance support for vulnerable populations.

The participating organizations include Lar de Santa Teresa, Casa dos Rapazes de Viana do Castelo, Centro Social e Cultural de Barroselas, Centro Social e Paroquial de Santa Maria Maior, and Centro Social e Paroquial de Afife.

As part of a circular economy model, the municipality will accept the donation of older vehicles from these institutions in exchange for financial aid toward new ones. These donated vehicles, including 9-seater vans and a 34-seater bus, will be repurposed to support the transportation needs of local social, cultural, and sports associations.
