Viana do Castelo opens tenders for tourism route and sanitation upgrades

The municipality of Viana do Castelo published a public tender worth €347,251.68 (plus VAT) to create a three‑point viewpoint route linking the Senhora do Crasto, Monte Galeão and Senhora do Minho lookouts. The contract must be executed within 300 days, with proposals due by 09 July, and the project will be funded equally from the 2026 and 2027 municipal budgets.

In a separate tender, the council approved a public competition exceeding €1 million to expand water and sewage networks for 90 households in five parishes. Lot 1 covers Deão, Mujães, Lanheses, Mazarefes and Vila Franca, creating new sewage lines for 57 homes; Lot 2 covers Subportela, adding new lines for 33 homes. Execution periods are 180 days for Lot 1 and 210 days for Lot 2, aiming to raise overall sanitation coverage from 81 % to 85 %.
