Viana do Castelo to host Corrida da Ponte on October 11

The Corrida da Ponte, organized by the Clube de Atletismo Olímpico Vianense (CAOV), is scheduled to return to Viana do Castelo on October 11. The main 10-kilometer race begins at 10:45 and is open to both federated and non-federated athletes across junior, senior, and veteran categories.

The course starts and ends at Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra, featuring a crossing of the Ponte Eiffel over the Lima River. Participants will head toward Cabedelo, which serves as a control and supply point, before returning to the city center. A maximum completion time of 1 hour and 30 minutes has been set, with an intermediate time barrier at the 4.5-kilometer mark.

In addition to the main event, youth races for various training categories will begin at 9:30, with distances ranging from 750 to 2,250 meters. These youth races are free of charge upon registration. The event is supported by the Viana do Castelo City Council and will proceed regardless of weather conditions, provided safety is maintained.
