Viareggio expands water dispenser network in Bicchio

The municipality of Viareggio has approved the installation of a new automatic drinking water dispenser in Piazza dell’Amicizia, located in the Bicchio district. This new facility will provide both natural and sparkling water, expanding the city's network of ‘Case dell’Acqua’ to a total of five locations.

The initiative aims to encourage the consumption of public tap water while reducing plastic waste and single-use packaging. The project follows a successful experimental phase that received positive feedback from residents. Existing stations are already operational in Torre del Lago, the Don Bosco district, Darsena, and near the Varignano area.

The installation is part of a ten-year concession with Toscana Multiservizi Srl. The municipality will cover connection costs for water and electricity, estimated at a total of 3,000 euros.
