Lazio nears free transfer deal for defender Diogo Leite
Lazio is nearing a deal to sign Portuguese defender Diogo Leite on a free transfer. The 27-year-old, formerly of Union Berlin, is expected to sign a four-year contract worth approximately 1.7 million euros per season plus bonuses. Leite is being positioned as a replacement for Alessio Romagnoli following his move to Al Sadd.
Beyond the defensive reinforcement, the club is also monitoring free agent Marcelo Brozovic as a potential addition to the midfield. Discussions regarding Brozovic are expected to follow the finalization of the Leite deal. Additionally, the club has explored a loan for Gudmundsson to provide tactical flexibility on the wings while managing the long-term wage bill.
In separate news, AC Milan remains interested in defender Goncalo Inacio. Although a deal with Sporting Lisbon for 40 million euros did not materialize this summer because the Portuguese club could not secure a replacement, Milan may revisit the pursuit in the January transfer window.
