Vibo Valentia female referees officiate Serie C match

An all-female refereeing trio from Vibo Valentia officiated the opening match of the Serie C women's championship (Girone D) between Cus Unical and Roma Calcio. The crew consisted of referee Irene Scerbo, assisted by Amelia Timpano and Maria Denami.

Nazzareno Manco, president of the Associazione Italiana Arbitri (AIA) in Vibo Valentia, noted that the designation reflects the growing presence of female officials and young talent in the region. He highlighted that the local section currently includes eight girls in the youth sector, four at the regional level, and three regional assistants.
