Vic Lopes and Thâmela win gold at Montreal Elite beach volleyball

Beach volleyball players Vic Lopes and Thâmela secured the gold medal at the Montreal Elite, the final stage of the 2026 Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 category. The Brazilian duo defeated the American pair Kristen Cruz and Taryn Brasher with a 2-1 comeback victory (19/21, 21/18, 15/12).

This victory propelled the duo to third place in the FIVB world rankings with 8,040 points. The top spot for the season was claimed by Brazilian players Carol Solberg and Rebecca, who finished with 8,760 points. This title marks the fourth gold medal for the Vic and Thâmela partnership in 25 tournaments played together.
