Vic Morrow killed in helicopter crash during film production

A tragic helicopter accident occurred during the filming of a segment for a Twilight Zone remake in Indian Dunes, California. The incident, which took place in the early hours of July 23, 1982, resulted in the deaths of actor Vic Morrow and two small children.

The film project was an anthology consisting of four stories directed by different filmmakers, including Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante, George Miller, and John Landis. The segment involving the tragedy, titled ‘Time's Up’, was directed by Landis and featured a story set during the Vietnam War. Following the accident, Spielberg ended his professional relationship with Landis.
