Vicaría de la Solidaridad 50th anniversary commemoration in Talca

The Diocese of Talca is preparing to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Vicaría de la Solidaridad. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, at the Talca Cathedral.

The commemoration will focus on the history of the organization and its service to individuals facing persecution and human rights violations. The program includes the screening of the documentary “Sin desviar la mirada: la historia de la Vicaría de la Solidaridad y su compromiso con la dignidad humana,” which features testimonies from pastoral workers, legal professionals, and those who sought support from the institution.

Following the documentary, academic and social science representatives will participate in a discussion regarding the legacy of the Vicaría and contemporary challenges related to human rights and human dignity.
