Vice President Radhakrishnan urges doctors to serve rural India

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan emphasized that expanding access to quality healthcare and medical education to all regions is vital for achieving the ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’ vision. Speaking at the second convocation of AIIMS Deoghar in Jharkhand, he urged medical graduates to prioritize serving rural and tribal communities.

Radhakrishnan noted that the number of medical colleges in India has grown from 387 before 2014 to 846 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He highlighted that of the 173 graduating students, 132 were women, which he cited as evidence of progress toward women-led development.
