Vice President Shettima leads Nigerian delegation to Ethiopia for nutrition exchange

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to lead a high-level delegation for the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange. The forum, scheduled from October 7 to 9, 2026, was held at the invitation of Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh.

The exchange aims to facilitate knowledge sharing between the two nations regarding government-led nutrition programs and the development of coordinated federal, state, and local frameworks for nutrition delivery. The Nigerian delegation will study Ethiopia’s multisectoral approach by visiting various agricultural and community-based facilities, including wheat farms, banana plantations in Oromia, and food production centers.

Accompanying the Vice President are several high-ranking officials, including Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Senator Abubakar Kyari.
