Vicente Boluda urges support for new regional financing model
Vicente Boluda, president of the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), has urged the regional government and deputies in Congress to support the Spanish government’s new proposal for autonomic financing. Speaking in Alicante before a meeting with Finance Minister Arcadi España, Boluda described the proposal as a “starting point to be able to go further,” emphasizing that the region should not systematically reject such opportunities.
Boluda highlighted the significant financial implications for the Valencian Community, noting that the new model could provide an immediate increase of 3,600 million euros. He warned that delaying the reform results in substantial lost revenue over time. During the meeting, AVE representatives also intended to discuss business concerns such as the Mediterranean Corridor, bureaucracy, and political tension.
Minister Arcadi España characterized the reform as a “historic opportunity,” stating that the proposal aims to provide stability and necessary resources for essential services like health, education, and social services. He noted that territories such as Murcia and the Valencian Community require this stability to fund their public policies.
