Vicente Fox and ex-DEA director call for extradition of Rubén Rocha Moya

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox and former DEA Director Derek Maltz have both called for the extradition of Rubén Rocha Moya, the acting governor of Sinaloa, to the United States.

During a visit to Culiacán, Fox argued that Rocha Moya should face justice in a Brooklyn federal prison alongside other figures linked to organized crime. These comments follow an indictment by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, which accused Rocha Moya and nine others of crimes related to narcotics and weapons, alleging collaboration with the Sinaloa Cartel in exchange for bribes.

Derek Maltz has also utilized social media and AI-generated imagery to advocate for Rocha Moya's extradition, describing the move as a necessary step to hold corrupt officials accountable for supporting criminal organizations. Maltz also expressed support for Mexican security official Omar García Harfuch following recent law enforcement operations.
